Rachael is a published illustrator and artist, and will be pleased to undertake commissions in oil, acrylic, pencil, charcoal, ink or pen. Please visit her website at www.queenstown-artist.co.nz for further examples of her work. She has two art projects currently running. Her "Light Changing Series" which are being exhibited in Artbay Gallery in Queenstown, Saffron Restaurant in Arrowtown, and Amisfield Winery on the way to Arrowtown. The second art project is a series of Kiwi themed still life paintings, as seen in the picture. As Rachael has integrated into the Kiwi way of life, she decided to pay homage to a few kiwi greats, and also explore the crossover of some of her own English roots. Her first piece was named "What Kiwi Means to Me". She is now embarking on her second arrangement and is keen to take commissions if anyone has something in particular in mind. Rachael can be found painting these pieces in as artist in residence in Artbay Gallery, Queenstown.
SPCA Fundraiser
Last year, Rachael worked with Jo Weir - (Marketing Manager from Tatler and Prime; acclaimed restaurants in central Queenstown) on a fundraiser party (animal themed) for the SPCA. The girls held an auction of promises at Tatler and raised over $3500. Thanks to all the businesses that gave such fantastic promises. Special thanks to Geoff Woodhouse from The Remarkable Vets for awarding the prize for the best dressed animal!
Illustrations
Rachael has her children's illustrations published in "Mixed up Muddled up Jack", written by local author Scott Townsend. She is soon to be embarking on her next illustration project with Alma Stevenson, who is a well known children's and historical writer in Queenstown.
